Witnesses reported that the pilot, Maurício Braga de Araújo, was sitting up and conscious with only bruises. Firefighters cordoned off the scene.
A small single-engine plane crashed into a house in the Santos Dumont neighborhood of Goiânia on Monday (13), according to the Fire Department. A video taken at the scene by a witness shows the plane crashing into the house, which was partially destroyed (see above).
The video shows parts of the roof and beams destroyed by the crash covering the single-engine plane. Fire Department Lieutenant Dovernice Machado told g1 that the pilot exited the aircraft after the accident and suffered only a cut and slight bleeding on his head.

The military officer also reported that there was a resident inside the house at the time of the accident, who was frightened but uninjured. Dovernice also stated that the pilot explained that he was flying normally when the aircraft’s engine stopped, necessitating an emergency landing.
The military also stated that fuel leaked from the plane during the crash. The incident was still ongoing at the time of this report’s last update, and the military reported that they are working to isolate the area and prevent the risk of an explosion.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reported, through the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA), that investigators from the Sixth Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA VI), based in Brasília, Federal District, were called to conduct the Initial Action in the incident involving the aircraft registered PU-DNA (read the full statement at the end of the article).
According to the FAB, during this stage, qualified professionals apply specific techniques to collect and confirm data, preserve elements, verify damage caused to or by the aircraft, in addition to gathering other information relevant to the investigation.
Meet the aircraft
This is a single-engine experimental amphibious aircraft, the Seamax M-22 model, manufactured in 2008. Registered under the registration PU-DNA, the aircraft has a capacity of two occupants, including one passenger, and a minimum crew of one pilot.
The aircraft is classified as an amateur construction and is authorized only for daytime VFR flights (visual flight rules during daylight hours). Its maximum takeoff weight is 600 kg, and it is prohibited for air taxi operations – it cannot offer transportation services.
Its airworthiness status is listed as normal.

FAB Statement
“The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the Center for Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention (CENIPA), informs that, this Monday (October 13th), investigators from the Sixth Regional Service for Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention (SERIPA VI) — a regional agency of CENIPA, headquartered in Brasília (DF) — were called to conduct the Initial Action for the incident involving the aircraft registered PU-DNA in Goiânia (GO).
During the Initial Action, qualified and accredited professionals apply specific techniques for data collection and confirmation, preservation of elements, initial verification of damage caused to or by the aircraft, and gathering other information necessary for the investigation.
Follow the investigation
The incident will soon be available for consultation on CENIPA’s SIPAER Dashboard, accessible through the Center’s website. Click on the “Occurrences” menu and, under “Search Filters,” enter the aircraft registration number in the field. “Registration.”
Deadline for Completion
This investigation will be completed as quickly as possible, depending on the complexity of the incident and the need to identify potential contributing factors. Upon completion of the investigation, the Final SIPAER Report will be published on the CENIPA website, accessible to the public.
CENIPA emphasizes that it only officially pronounces on the results of its investigations through the publication of the Final SIPAER Report, as provided for in Article 88-H of Law No. 7,565/1986 (Brazilian Aeronautical Code – CBA).
